The purpose of this study was to examine the development of a flowchart-based Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) as a strategy to optimize employee performance. This research was motivated by the condition of the company’s SOP implementation, which is still presented in a long narrative format and is less effective as an operational guideline. This situation causes employees to rely more on work experience and verbal instructions, leading to inconsistencies in work processes and increasing the potential for errors. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation of employee work activities, interviews with employees and supervisors, and analysis of existing SOP documents. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques to identify problems in the current SOP, design a flowchart-based SOP, and evaluate its potential impact on employee performance. The results show that the existing narrative SOP does not function optimally as a standardization tool due to unclear workflows and difficulties in understanding procedures. The development of a flowchart-based SOP presents work procedures more clearly, systematically, and visually. This visual approach improves employee understanding of workflow processes and contributes to better work quality, timeliness, effectiveness, compliance with procedures, and consistency of employee performance.
